On May 11, about 200 representatives of various countries attending 2016 IABSE (International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering) Guangzhou Academic Conference & The 22nd National Bridge Academic Conference, accompanied by Hongkong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Administration Chief Engineer Su Quanke, visited CRBBG participated Jiuzhou navigable span of Hongkong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB). CRBBG Deputy Chief Engineer Li Junping and CRBBG Yangzhou Company Chief Engineer Zhu Xinhua accompanied the visitors.
The representatives knew about the general situation and main products of CRBBG and listened to the introduction of the structural features, fabrication difficulties and new technologies and new processes adopted for Jiuzhou navigable span of HZMB. They were very interested in the technology of sail-shape fabrication and thick plate all-welded steel tower and made warm communications with the accompanying persons, giving a high appraisal to the fabrication technology of "factorization, automation and codeless and scatheless" used by the company in the production.
At the same time, the experts went to The 2nd Humen Bridge and the Pearl River Huangpu Bridge for a technical visit. The 2nd Humen Bridge is the crucial passage connecting east and west bank of Pearl River. CRBBG will undertake fabrication of 27,200 tons of steel box girder in this project.
The Pearl River Huangpu Bridge is located on the axial line of eastward and southward development, designed as 6-lane (8-lane for long-term) expressway brand bridge with the design speed of 100km/h. The south bridge has an overall length of 1,748m. The main span is a steel box girder suspension bridge with 1,108m single span; the bridge width is 34.5m excluding cable area and the span arrangement is 290m+1,108m+350m=1,748m; and both side spans are 62.5m PC continuous box bridge. CRBBG undertook the fabrication of 19,000 tons of steel box girder in this project. The bridge had been open to traffic at the end of 2008.
